Excellent Experience with Coordinated Kitchens and Bath

I had an excellent experience with Coordinated Kitchens and Bath. They helped transform my 1970’s, everything original down to the foil wallpaper bathroom, into the perfect space that really represents me and my husband’s tastes. It fits completely into the style of the rest of the house thanks to the time the colour designer and the lead coordinator spent helping us pick the perfect cupboards, counter, tiles, accessories and even paint colour. All the workmen were pleasant and professional and if I ever found a small problem (never encountered one of any significance) they were there the next day righting it. I highly recommend their services.

Coordinate Kitchens & Bath

I had insisted that the kitchen and two bathrooms was done by Coordinate Kitchens & Bath. Their service was professional, timely and stress free. Mike Williams as a project manager was exceptional. I live in a condo in Yaletown and every stage of the project was executed with no problems to me. The test is three years later my kitchen and bathrooms still look as if they were just done and i still love them.
It was a pleasure to work with a company and staff who delivered what I expected and paid for.

Customer Testimonial

Home renovations are a daunting task. That’s why so many homeowners put them off until things get so bad the choice becomes renovate or move. Unfortunately the only thing more daunting than renovating is moving. This is the quandary my wife and I recently found ourselves in. We had talked about renovating off and on for several years. To anyone who would listen. I guess we thought just talking about it would get the ball rolling, but we found out this particular ball doesn’t go anywhere unless you move it yourself.

What talking about renovating can do is to provide helpful hints from those who’ve been there. In our case it was our former neighbours who provided the helpful hint that got the ball rolling. After a long chat about the perils of renovating they provided us with a name of a general contractor, that came highly recommended and which they had used themselves on a number of occasions. My wife jotted down the name of the contractor on a post-it note thanking them profusely as she tucked it away in her handbag only to be forgotten – for another three years. My wife’s handbag did not survive the three years – she changed bags at least twice during that time – but somehow the post-it note did. Right up until the day we decided to finally kick the renovations ball into motion. And we are very glad that it did, because the information on that post-it note led us to Mike Williams (project manager) and Paula Phillips (colour consultant and decorator), of Coordinated Kitchen and Bath in North Vancouver.

Mike and Paula helped us conceive, design, and construct the home of our dreams. Right from the beginning they made it clear to us that we were the boss of this particular project and that they were there to help make it happen. The first thing we told them was that we were on a budget. Contractors never tire of hearing that one. We also told them we did not want our lives upended for months on end. Apparently they’ve heard that one before too. Oh and one other thing, would they please not make too much of a mess? They didn’t even crack a sardonic smile. That’s when we knew we’d found our perfect match for the job ahead. Now I’m not going to sit here and tell you that Coordinated Kitchen and Bath magically transformed our home without any muss or fuss whatsoever. In the world of renovations you can’t build something without first tearing something down.

What I will say is that whenever it seemed as though the job simply could not be done the way we wanted it – on time and at the price we were willing to pay – Mike and Co proceeded to steer us through the rough spots with friendly helpful advice, a broad, beautiful selection of materials to work with and an outstanding team of dedicated trades-people, who besides being good at what they do, are such a personable lot we didn’t mind sharing our home with them for the time it took to make it beautiful.

Dear Mike
I would like to thank you for the professional manner in which you handled the renovation of my kitchen. As with my bathroom renovation, the project came in on budget. Once again I appreciated your knowledge and handling of the issues and your project management skills that enabled the process to proceed so smoothly. You were always available for questions and kept me informed every step of the way.

Please extend my thanks to all the tradesmen who worked on the project and also to Paula who did an outstanding job with the color scheme.
I am delighted with the kitchen and have received many good comments from friends. I will certainly be recommending your services to anyone considering a kitchen or bath renovation on the North Shore.

Dear Mike and Paula
Thank you again for the fantastic renovation work your company carried out in our kitchen and bathroom. The experience was excellent from start to finish. It is an understatement to say we are very happy customers.
The amazing, patient, expert, and detail-oriented work of Michael Williams has been outstanding. The
professionalism he displayed throughout this project was exceptional.
From our initial enquiry about a small bathroom reno, Mike's expert advice and product knowledge convinced us to choose your company for what became a much larger project. In fact, after our initial meeting with Mike, and the budget breakdown he prepared, we did not seek any other quotes-so confident were we in Coordinated's ability to do this job on time and on budget. Our confidence was well placed.
Mike designed a great plan, and a schedule that gave us time to adjust the plan and product selection to fit our personal choices before the project was started. Even during the project, when we wanted small (but to us, significant) changes, there was never a problem that Mike didn't solve. Our satisfaction always
came first.
Mike's time-management and interpersonal skills are exceptional. Even though your company manages many projects at once, we always felt that ours was the only one. We were pleased that our project was completed within the 3-4 week schedule that Mike proposed-even when the countertop needed to be pulled out of a hat!
Mike kept us informed throughout the project when trades people would be coming by, and he was always quick to respond to any calls we made.
The quality of the trades people you employ is also remarkable. They clearly take pride in their skills and are satisfied only when the client is. The workers were always respectful of our home and our time.
We are very proud of our "new" home. Your company has given us a jewel of a kitchen and bathroom. We only wish we had other rooms for you to renovate! Thank you once again and all the best to you and your amazing trades people.
Yours truly

Mike Sainsbury and Steve Peace

Michael:
This email is actually overdue as it's been a few months since the last bathroom reno has been completed.
We just wanted you to know how very pleased we are with everything your Company has provided, from the design consultation through to the follow-up on the finished projects. At every step, we were dealt with unfailing politeness, professionalism and caring for our needs from everyone we dealt with.
This was especially true of the "trades" you engaged. Amazingly, each one of them seemed more friendly than the
last and were very attentive to our needs. In fact, I think our two little dogs miss seeing some of the guys which is
quite a testament in itself!
The quality of the work and of the recommended materials was first rate and continues to delight us every day. It's
the old story .....you get what you pay for and we are very pleased with the "value" we received.
We would be remiss in not singling-out Mike Williams for special recognition and thanks. We trust you appreciate what a "gem" you have in this young man, Michael. He demonstrates the rare ability to exhibit genuine caring for the customer while all the time, representing the best interests of your Company to the highest standards. We can quite honestly say that Mike W. made the professional difference that set our dealings with your Company far above
others with whom we have dealt. Thank-you Mike W!
In closing, too bad we don't have another bathroom or kitchen with which to continue the relationship! In any case ...many thanks, and please feel free to use this letter as a reference and recommendation in any way you see fit.

Dear Michael and Paula:
We are writing to express our satisfaction with the recent bathroom renovation you did to our home. We were very impressed by every aspect of your work. Your initial quote was accurate; your trades people turned up on time, worked hard and well, and most importantly finished the job on time. Paula's design skills are obvious in the finished product -all the details such as paint and tile combinations have turned our bathroom into a soothing oasis.

Our thanks should also go to Liz and Mike at your store for helping us solve any little problems that arose.
We have no hesitation in recommending your work. We must save our last thanks for you Michael, for doing such a good job at coordinating the whole project.
Kind regards,

Lisa and Alec Mitchell

Dear Paula and Michael,

Sorry we've taken so long to get this letter to you but we wanted to kill two birds with one stone. Bird # 1Thank you so much for all the work you have put into helping customize our new house for colours, materials, tiles, and paint. We are so glad we did this at the beginning as it helped us so much in making all our choices during the building so much easier.

We love the colours of the different rooms as they blend together so well. So many people that have visited our house say the colours help make it feel so homey. We also love all the tile work and their colours. The tile on the backsplash of the kitchen cupboards is so elegant yet so refined. The floor tiles are perfect, for colour. Also they are very practical so easy to clean and yet they don't have to be cleaned very often as they do not show the dirt, nor seem to attract the dirt. This is great since we have so much floor tile. The master bathroom tile is perfect for it also. I wouldn't want that tile through the house yet it's perfect for the bathroom. Our main tile, which is in the main bathroom is perfect for that room also.

We also thoroughly enjoy the colour of our arborite in all the rooms but especially in the kitchen. Then in the kitchen having the ruby corian edge just topped it off. Needless to say we are very happy with all your work.

We also love the choice of maple for our kitchen cabinets as you suggested. This cabinet choice and the design of the cupboards complimented everything.

Thank you Michael for the kitchen and bathroom designs. Not only do we love our maple kitchen cabinets but we love the design also. We are always getting compliments on the uniqueness of our cupboards. The cupboards are so practical too. The island and the coffee counter worked out perfect, as they both are very unique. We also love the designs of our bathroom cupboards, they are very practical and yet so much space for storing everything. Your suggestions helped make all our choices for the plumbing fixtures too 80 much easier.

Bird #2 We are having an open house on Sunday May 16th between 2:00 and 5:00 P.M. in appreciation for everyone who helped make our home such a blessing. We would love for you to attend. We could even recommend a good bed and breakfast if you decided to stay overnight.

Also please invite Mary Lee and her husband as we appreciate all the input she also put into our home.

If you are able to attend please call us by May 12/99.

Thank you again,

Don and Ruth Knox

Dear Michael,

Just a quick note to express our thanks for the job you did on the renovation of our bathroom. Having never been through the renovation process we were a little hesitant, but you walked us through from start to finish. We especially liked the way you operated within our budget, suggesting which accessories were of more importance for the overall job.

Your work team was courteous and efficient and Paula certainly put the whole package together picking the styles and colours that fit with our tastes.

Our renovation project was a success and we are certainly happy with the end result. We would not hesitate to recommend your services to our friends.

Thanks again,

Dear Michael,

I would like to thank you for the beautiful renovation job you did for us.

As I told you, we waited a long time to have our bathroom renovated, because we have heard so many horror stories. Finally we took the plunge and we are very happy with the results.

With our limited budget and limited space you were able to create a space that is very user friendly and effective and yet the bathroom now appears larger. You also worked within our budget, allowing us to cut where it was minor but always opting for quality where it counted most.

We appreciate the fact that the job came in on budget and on time. We were very pleased with the worker. He accommodated our needs, cleaned up beautifully every day and took his work to heart. He truly did an excellent job, and always went the extra mile. Just doing it was not good enough, doing it well was always his motto.

We thank you again for a job well done. We would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone who needs a bathroom or kitchen renovation.

Dear Michael & Paula:

Our two new bathrooms have been finished for a few months now and we love them. Even our cat has taken to keeping us company in the showers (at the dry ends of course). The only negative part of the renovation has been an increase in our water heating bill as we seem to be languishing in the showers longer than before.

On a more serious note, it was truly a pleasure to work with you and Paula. Your knowledge and experience with bathroom design, fixtures, building products and methods saved us valuable time: in making the right decisions and selections to proceed with the project. I recall giving you my 10 layout alternatives, none of which I felt were quite right. Your idea to convert the existing windows to flush glass block, and put the shower and tub against the outside wall was the idea that made the layout work.

Choosing tile, cabinet styles, colours and other decorative items was a breeze with Paula's guidance. After spending a Saturday in several tile stores, we left disappointed because only the high priced products met our expectations. But a few hours with Paula, and her display of pre selected, and reasonably priced product was all it took to make our tile and colour choices.

We also felt the construction went well. The work was sufficiently complete for Joni's stroke club barbecue and your sensitivity in getting our bath working when Lexi came down with chicken pocks was sincerely appreciated. The trades people you employ are qualified and friendly and our kids enjoyed watching the whole process. Adam still talks about his buddy Ivan the tile setter.

We have and will continue to recommend your company to family and friends who are considering a home renovation project. Thanks again for two beautiful bathrooms.

Sincerely,

Joni & Stephen Vajda
